What Is Baptism?

As a disciple or follower of Jesus Christ, one is called to be baptized, as instructed in Matthew 28:19. Baptism is a profound symbol of your commitment to follow Jesus and learn from Him. Just as houses are built on a strong foundation, your faith grows as you apprentice under the teachings and life of Jesus. Take the next step in your spiritual journey and publicly declare your faith in the Resurrected King through baptism.

Sharing in baptism as a church body not only encourages all of us, no matter where we are in our faith journey, but it also deepens the level of commitment we extend to each other. However, we do understand there might be challenges like physical limitations or social anxiety that hinder this next step in obedience. If these types of challenges apply to you, we’d love to have a conversation and explore options that would work best for you.

What Is Baptism Class?

For those 6th grade through adult, baptism class (required for baptism) provides an opportunity to learn about what GMC believes about baptism and to share our salvation stories. We will also film a snippet of everyone's story to hopefully share on Baptism Sunday! Meet upstairs in the STUDIO conference room, located just off the Sanctuary hallway near the restrooms.

Anyone 5th grade or younger must schedule a time to meet (along with a parent) with our Children’s Pastor. Contact janna@grabillmc.org with questions.
